Seal le Dáithí

Dáithí Ó Sé hosts series two of his weekly chat show ‘Seal le Dáithí’ on TG4. Each week Dáithí will chat one-to-one with a different guest where they will discuss and share their life story and experiences. This 20 part series will include some of the following guests; CEO of Trócaire, CEO of the Marketing Institute of Ireland, composers, writers, singers, sports personalities, a Yoga instructor, a European boxing medallist and Olympic hopeful, an international mountain leader and a former Minister of State who has recently been ordained a priest.

Ciarán Ó Gealbháin is Dáithí Ó Sé’s guest this week. A musician and singer who was inspired by Liam Clancy and who has travelled extensively, firstly to Hong Kong and later worldwide with the traditional group ‘Danú’. Ciarán eventually returned home and graduated from UCC with a degree in Irish and Folklore. He spent some time teaching at second level before returning to UCC to do his Doctorate at The Department of Foklore and Ethnology on aspects of the song tradition of Co. Waterford. He now lectures in Folklore at UCC.
